Party Time! Alivia's First Birthday

On Sunday we celebrated Alivia's first birthday with a little party. I did my best with what I could find to put together something cute. I definately had to get creative, but truthfully, she didn't really care about the decorations...she was pretty focused on the cupcakes! :)

I can't even tell you what a special part of our family this little sweetheart is! She's spunky, she's snuggly, she's the reason all the chairs in my dining room are tipped over (she's a climber & we canNOT keep her off the table any other way!) She makes me smile everyday and I'm so grateful for our little Livie-lou.

Now that's the way to eat a cupcake--no hands and face first. So cute! Happy Birthday, Alivia!

You are my hero as well! :) You are amazing! I wish I had a talent for making things look nice...I really fall short in that department! I used one of your templates for our Christmas card that I of course didn't send out, but we passed them out here, and put it on facebook...thanks!

Thanks so much for the kind comments ladies! I'm DEFINATELY biased but we sure think she's a cutie-pie too. ;) And if you only knew about the decorations, etc. They are SO (so, so!) simple & cost me nothing!

The packaging is actually lunch bags that I took apart & used for wrapping paper with a few bits of salvaged string. The flower garland is made from real flowers that the kids helped me pick and I then strung them together with a needle & thread. I added a few flowers around the makeshift cupcake stand (a plate + a bowl + a baby food jar) & glued some to those branches with the gluegun I brought.

The bunting & her party hat I did with computer paper...its all I had on hand ...but it worked just fine. Oh how I wish I had a small stash of cardstock/scrapbook paper but I couldn't fit my scrapbook stash into the suitcases darnit.

Paper + some pencil crayons and done & done. No special tools or moolah required. :)

I love the simplicity here...simply beautiful! And it works so well for your little girl, turning one. Perfect. I'm taking a lesson from you here and will see what I can find to make my son's 8th birthday coming up simple but meaningful, just as you did.

All beautiful!!
It was Brae's bday yesterday and she is missing Miss Emily and Mark and I chatted about missing you guys this holiday season. Everything looks so good there though, makes us want to take on an adventure.
Hope all is well.
