Simple Christmas Countdown {day 08}
Today I'd like to welcome Amy from the Workman Family Blog! I am always checking out her cute blog to find fabulous recipes, movie night ideas, craft tutorials and more. I'm thrilled to have Amy guest posting today to share with us a simple and adorable holiday craft idea!
Hi everyone, my name is Amy. I'm a stay at home mom to 5 wonderful children; Hunter, Ava, Lily, Grey and our newest addition Finn. Currently we live in Ontario, Canada while my husband is in school pursuing a Pharmacy degree. To pass the time, I spend my days crafting, baking, decorating and taking a zillion pictures. I am obsessed with Halloween and Reeses' Peanut Butter Cups. I hate wearing socks and dream of one day building a huge victorian mansion, off the grid.
I am so excited to share with all of you simple as that readers a fun and whimsical way to add a little Christmas flair to your home this holiday.
All you need is some red and green felt, a hot glue gun, white buttons and a small hairclip.
Trace and cut out a circle, approximately 1 inch in any color of felt, this will be our backing. Next cut out 2 leaf shapes with your green felt, and about 10-12 red poinsettia petals. I just freehand cut all of mine, using this picture as my guide.
Add some white buttons for the center and you’re done.
Slip a small hairclip or clothes peg between your backing and flower petals.
Now you’re ready to attach to any surface that needs some Christmas cheer.
I clipped mine onto the edge of my lampshade, and I just love the simple touch it adds.
There are so many possibilities for these sweet little flowers, you could wear them in your hair, or clip them to a Christmas card or gift. I also love the idea of using these as Christmas tree ornaments or stringing a bunch together as a garland.
Thanks so much for following along, Merry Christmas and happy gluing!
