Project Life 2013 on the Move

After hoping for this day to come for a long time now, its hard to believe that moving day is nearly here! We leave this Friday for Arizona and we couldn't be more excited! We're packing up the last few boxes and have some cleaning to do but other than that....we're SO ready for this!

We've got a long road trip ahead of us and I'll be keeping in touch via instagram and facebook as we travel. I'm excited about the places we'll see along the way and I'm sure I'll have lots of photos to document by the time we get to Arizona!

I thought I'd put some of the long hours spent in the car to good use and bring along a few Project Life journaling cards to record details about the trip as they happen. I'm using a mixture of cards from the following Project Life kits:

Kraft Edition
Midnight Edition
Baby Edition

I love how easy it is to take these little journaling cards with you anywhere you go! I have them tucked in my Project Life notebook in my purse along with a pencil + my favorite journaling pen. When I'm using my own handwriting I like to record with pencil first - read more here.

I printed out some of the journaling cards using the PL Digi editions available at AC Digitals. I really like working with the digital versions, especially since you can personalize some of the elements like I did with the card below using this fun State Face font

I look forward to recording the details of our trip with Project Life! Once we get settled in our new home all I need to do is print out the photos and add them, along with the already journaled cards, to our 2013 album!
** IMPORTANT NOTE **

The Simple as That Digital Shop will be closed from May 30th - June 10th. You can still place orders during this time but products won't be emailed out until after the 10th. Thank you for your understanding.

We'll see you again in a few weeks! :)

Don't forget about....

All About Dad Mini Album

Last week I posted about my printable All about Dad Questionnaire and today I wanted to share a quick Father's Day gift you can make using Dad's answers to these insightful questions.
The idea is based on this album I created for my Mom a few years ago. How fun would it be to make a mini album filled with Dad's answers to the quiz questions!? You could make a paper version like I did or use the free digital templates below!

Download FREE All About Dad mini album templates here.

These FREE digital templates  are 5" X 7" in size, making them easy to print at your favorite photo lab. Just drop in your own photos + digi paper, add your journaling and you're good to go! You will need Photoshop Elements or Photoshop to use the templates.

Need another simple Father's Day gift idea? Check out my Personalized Photo Bookmarks for Dad

All about Dad Questionnaire Free Printable

Get to know Dad this Father's Day with my FREE printable All about Dad Questionnaire!

Ways to use the All About Dad Questionnaire:

1. Sit down and have an interview with Dad/Grandpa, write down his answers in a notebook.

2. Email the questionnaire to Dad/Grandpa and have him write his responses in a return email.

3. Ask Dad/Grandpa these questions while video recording his answers.

4. Use Dad/Grandpa's answers to create a mini album all about him.

5. Include the questions in a journal, give it to Dad/Grandpa for Father's Day
and have him write down his answers.

Having Dad/Grandpa share their answers to even some of these questions is such a great way to get to know things about them you may not have known before. Even if some of the questions are tough, they're sure to get them thinking and bring up special memories they can share with the whole family!

I hope you enjoy this fun Father's Day printable!

Check out this simple Father's Day gift idea I shared earlier in the week. These photo bookmarks are so fun to make and are sure to put a smile on Dad's face!

Stay tuned next week when I'll be sharing a Father's Day mini album idea. I'll have some free digi templates available that you can use in conjunction with the All about Dad Questionnaire to create another meaningful Father's Day gift!

Monthly Photo Collages: April 2013

I started my April photo collages a little while ago and was finally able to get them finished, printed + added to my 2013 project life album. I'm especially happy to have all these photos documented with how crazy life has been the last few weeks.
We've got some really big life changes coming up next week. We've been waiting for what seems like forever to move on to the next step in this whole med school journey and I'm excited to report, that as of next week, we will be relocating to Arizona where my husband will start his clinical rotations!

It's been a whirlwind that's for sure! From the time we found out we'd be on our way until the day we leave next Friday will be just over 3 weeks. As crazy as its been, we're feeling so blessed with how everything seems to be falling into place.
Even with all the packing, the paperwork that goes along with an international move and keeping up with daily life, I was able to throw these collages together. Not saying that to toot my own horn, it just goes to show how quickly + easily these come together! :) That's what I love about them so much!

I'm perfectly happy if all I get around to in a given month is making these photo collages. I can go back later and fill in the blanks with the stories, but for now, it makes me smile to see all these photos from April documented!

You can find my free monthly collage templates here.
